slowing down

How it is the middle of December is beyond me?! These past few months have been crazy, ya'll. Extremely, over-the-top, downright, crazy! So, in a way, I am VERY ready for the winter. It's the perfect time of the year to slow down, to take deep breaths, to watch Friends episodes and Elf 20 times, to read until midnight, to dance in the living room, to take afternoon naps, to make breafast in bed, to have date days, to spend quality time visiting with family and friends, to sneak cuddles in with the B man, to bake, to sip on apple cider and hot chocolate and to lose track of time. And, that is exactly what I plan on doing. Slowing down.

I had no idea what 2011 was going to hold for us. We walked into the year with an open mind and heart and set small goals. Along the way, we were surprised, we were left speechless and we celebrated. Because it was that kind of year. A year of wonderful moments I never want to forget. So, when December graced us with her (yes, her) lovely presence, we spent a whole Saturday of celebrating our favorite time of the year by decorating our home for Christmas and a date to one of our favorite places for a Christmas Homes on Tour and dinner at quite possibly the cutest little restaurant (EVERYTHING on their menu is gluten-free...brownie points for this place!). I plan on continuing to take the time to slow down, making new goals for 2012, allowing for change and relishing in the good life!

Date Day

For the remainder of the year, I will be on a holiday break! Aside from the one or two sessions I have left, this blog will consist of gluten-free baking, holiday fun, inspiration and memories! Hope all of you take the time to slow down, enjoy afternoon naps, watch Elf 20 times, dance in the living room and eat lots and lots of delicious holiday treats!

Happy Holidays, Friends!!!
