words i love: one day

I do not know what it is about reading lately, but I am completely addicted. With every word, character and author I meet. Maybe it is because for the first time in a LONG time, I have been able to enjoy it guilt-free without feeling like I have a million other things to do. Oh the joys of winter time and taking it slow. This brings me to another fantastic book review and suggestion. Thanks to my dear friend, Martha, I had One Day put on hold at the library. (Yes, I still get books at the library, and I LOVE it! It reminds me of my childhood days when my mother would take my younger brother, Shalin, and I to the public library every week. It was one of my favorite outings that we shared every week!)

David Nicholls creatively spins a story of two people, Dexter and Emma, who graduate from college and begin to experience life through its ups and downs. Everything from weddings, careers, families and life's important lessons. However, each chapter consist of the same day, just a different year. The particular day holds much significance for both Dexter and Emma that you learn at the end. I'm not sure if it was that the book was based in London or that Emma finds who she truly is through many obstacles or that Dex is just outright hilarious or that Emma lives out a dream I absolutely adore, but I fell in love with every word, character and the author's creative style of writing!

One Day

Please do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this book. Then, curl up on the couch with a hot cup of cocoa or a glass of wine and enjoy the read guilt-free getting lost in London!

Happy Monday!

Great book suggestion! While I was studying abroad in London a year ago I bought this used at an awesome tiny classic bookstore and read it there!
