happy mother's day, mum!

You are what they call one of a kind. And, maybe I am partial because you are my mum, but that does not make a difference to me. I thought about how to write this many times. And, the words just have not come as easily as I hoped. So, I will just come out and say what it is I have to say, mum.

I want to be exactly like you when I grow up. I want to love like you. I want to have faith like you. I want to have the amazing strength you have to do the impossible. I want to have the kindest and most caring of hearts like you. I want to believe in dreams like you. And, I want to be the kind of mum you are to Shal and I. The kind of mum who kissed us when we needed kisses, hugged us when we needed hugs, believed in us when we didn't believe in ourselves and guided us on the right path when we needed guidance. But, mum, you are not just my mother. Or the woman who gave birth to me. You are my best friend. My very best friend.
