a glass jar, one year anniversary & california love

I am baffled as to how (almost) one year of being married has passed. More on this later. In celebration of (almost) one year, we headed to the west coast two weeks ago. And, Internet, it did not disappoint. Not even one bit. It was just perfect. Every memory. And, if I could, I would take each memory and place it in a glass jar, so I could see them every day. But, I will settle for remembering each memory through words instead…

Sweet hubby looking as excited as a 5 year old on Christmas morning as our plane took off. Eating at the world famous Tony’s pizza. Watching the “pizza dance.” Listening to our cab driver tell us at midnight how he has been happily married to his lady for 30 years and wishing us a happy anniversary with many more following. Waking up at 3:00 am Friday morning to see the Royal couple say "I do." Touching the Golden Gate Bridge. Falling in love with architecture over and over again. Sitting exactly where Uncle Jessie, Danny Tanner and Miss Michelle sat on the ever so green hill. Smooching next to the blue, blue Pacific ocean. Cruisin’ on the Bay. Wining and dining at Fisherman Wharf’s best. Counting my blessings to be able to spend my life with my best friend in the middle of a crowd. Walking 15 blocks up and down hills like true San Frans. Driving down the Crookedest Road-something that belongs in the "Crooked Man" nursery story. Riding the trolley. Meeting people from England and Sweden. Sharing ice-cream sundaes at the original Ghiradelli Chocolate Shop and holding hands. Like two 13 year olds. Second best day of my life. Feeling sore from said 15 block walk the next morning. My first visit ever at Prada and understanding the phrase "shoe heaven." Driving over the Golden Gate Bridge-a check off the Bucket List. Chatting with new friends about dreams. Wine tasting. A bike ride through Sonoma. Third best day of my life. Learning about wine. Seeing baby grapes on the vines and squealing. Driving through the mountains to Napa and making plans to own a vineyard one day. More wine tasting. Eating at my first French restaurant. Toasting to another wonderful year and a fabulous anniversary getaway. Falling more in love with my better half. And, letting the west coast steal a piece of our hearts.
