There is something so special when a newborn baby is welcomed into the world. Everything in your life changes...for the better. And, that is exactly what happened with Nick and Lauren. They greeted us with happy hellos and smiles. The kind of smiles that says they are blessed to have such a perfect little baby boy in their arms. As I spent the session photographing sweet little Hudson, all that came to mind was their smiles. In between the feedings, the cuddling, the changing of clothes and the smiles, all I kept thinking about was how all of this fits Nick and Lauren. Perfectly. These two make being parents of a newborn look SO easy, and I cannot wait to see them teach Hudson to dream, love and hope. I have known Lauren since we lived in Chi Omega together, and I have known Nick for quite a few years. They are an amazing couple together. But, watching them love, glow and have pride over the beautiful baby boy they created together was a feeling that left me in awe. Their family of three is now complete.

Welcome to the world, Baby Hudson!

On a beautiful Friday afternoon, my amazing sister-in-law made me an aunt. Miss Leia Marie was born at 7 pounds 2 ounces and 20 inches long. And, I might be partial because she is my niece and all, but baby girl. is. CUTE. She turned her Uncle B man and me into a puddle of love goop. As in there was no putting her down. And, as we gave baby girl plenty of kisses good-bye and hugs to her mama and daddy, I started to tear up. Because I already missed her. Her sweet eyes. Her ten baby fingers and ten baby toes. Her kissable cheeks. Her little button nose. And, her precious baby yawns.

You can say she has Uncle B man and I wrapped around her tiny little fingers.

It was the first time she opened her eyes while we visited, and I think I might have scared her with my machine of a camera.

For the past few years I have heard Dr. Brett is amazing. Or Dr. Brett helped fix the problem in my knee. And even Dr. Brett and his family are adorable. He has kind of been a celebrity in my husband's extended family. So imagine my excitement when I got an email from his wife, Cheri, asking for photographs of their little newborn baby, Wade.

Upon arriving at their home, I instantly LOVED Cheri. As in I could sip tea (I hate coffee) and chat with her for hours. She is someone that can make you feel welcome just with her smile and has the sweetest personality. What I found out during our session was that Cheri happened to be a Chi Omega at Mizzou! It's a wonder why I loved her instantly. When I shook Brett's hand, I told him I felt like a celebrity. I wish I were kidding. And, when I got the chance to meet their two little cuties who are more adorable than words can describe, you can say I felt honored to be given this chance to photograph their beautiful family. Especially Baby Wade. He is the sweetest little newborn. I hardly heard a peep out of this little one!

He has his mama's smile. And, his daddy's eyes. He has his mama's calm temperament. And, his daddy's smooth moves. His head is full of hair. And, he loves to lay on his daddy's chest. Or have smooches from his mama. Most of all, he is a perfect mix of his parents. And, might I add, these two have the parent thing down. They fall in sync with one another, never forgetting to laugh at the little moments, kiss at life's sweetest blessing and smile at their baby boy. And, this kind of love is so heart warming to be a part of that it makes any kind of heart melt. On the spot.

I walked around the corner into their living room where I saw him. Him who had ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes. Him who was swaddled up and made me stop in my tracks. Because at that moment, I fell in love. So in love, it took 20 minutes of holding Jackson time and cooing and gooing at him with Bryan to finally give him back to Jordan and Annie and start taking my camera out. Maybe it is because he is my cousin. Or maybe it is the fact that he was the most talkative newborn I have ever met. Or that his baby feet made me want to squeeze and smooch his cute little self. But, I fell head-over-heels in love with Baby Jackson. Head-over-heels in love, Internet.
