wedding: dan+kristin

Some people are just meant to be together. As in they fit together like two puzzle pieces. And you cannot help but wonder how amazing God truly is when he brings two people together to give them the gift of marriage and love. True love that is. This is exactly what went through my mind as Dan waited for Kristin to climb up the stairs for their "First Look" on that gorgeous Sunday morning. I could not help but think how they were meant to be. Like two puzzle pieces.

Kristin is the kind of bride you dream of photographing. Not a hint of stress showed on her face from the time she was getting her hair done to hanging outside with friends on a beautiful, clear night. Just a smile. And, not just any kind of smile but the kind of smile in which she knew she was marrying one heck of a man. And, not just any kind of man but the kind of man that makes the deepest part of her heart smile. Really really big. And, do not get me started on how radiant she looked from the time she put on Dan's mum's dress to dancing with Dan's father during the Father-Daughter dance at night. She was breathtakingly beautiful!

As for Dan, he is someone that is VERY special to me. He is my big brother. Not by blood, but it sure feels like it. I have known him for quite some time and through the years, he has looked out for both Bryan and I. He is one of our best friends, he was a part of our wedding day and we have shared a million memories with him. He has helped me through some tough times and has always been a selfless, patient, caring kind of man. But, this is Dan for you. He carries through each of these qualities 110% if not more.

Together Dan and Kristin are indescribable. As in their souls are indescribable and that is how I can describe them. Indescribable. They have this sparkle, this love, this smile and this ease about them that can make anyone smile and feel right at home with them. Together, their wedding day was indescribable. From their First Look to their beautiful ceremony to their kisses and holding hands in between the busy day to cutting their cake to the toasts to their first dance. From Dan helping Trystan, their ring bearer, put on his tux to Kristin's mum looking at her daughter with pure happiness to tears that Dan's mum dropped during pictures because her oldest son was getting married to his best friend to the whispers Dan and Kristin exchanged throughout the day to Dan's eyes saying it all-happiness, gratitude and excitement. It was all indescribable. Their entire wedding day.

Enjoy how their day unfolded through some of my favorite photographs!

First up, a oh so beautiful, all lace wedding dress that happened to be Dan's mum's wedding dress. Between Mrs. Shelton and Kristin, they beautified it even more and turned it into a very modern and beautiful wedding dress for Kristin to wear! I should add that Kristin's gorgeous bouquet was done by Pat Byrd.

Kristin's shoes were incredibly budget friendly!

The rings shot. Fun fact about Dan's ring: it has meteorite inlay in the ring. This is very fitting since Dan is a mining engineer.

Make-up and hair was done up by Haylee Githens who happens to be Dan's best friend! She did a fabulous job at making Kristin look breathtaking!

Right before their First Look!

Wedding 05

The lighting was absolutely delicious!!! It helps that the couple is stunning.

Wedding 06

Um, yeah, hi, can you both be any more gorgeous?! Wow...

Wedding 07

I LOVE Kristin's smile in these.

Wedding 08

One of my absolute favorites of the day!

Wedding 09

Dan, I don't know what to say except you are one VERY handsome stud!

Wedding 10

I should mention that all of their First Look pictures were taken at Barbie Shipman's home (MAJOR thank you to her family and her for opening up their home). Now, I should also mention that this place is a castle. For real. As in you could get lost. And, don't even get me started on how it is a photographer's dream to shoot there. Every inch of the house was full of character with amazing lighting. Barbie, if you are ever leasing out rooms, let Bryan and I know. We will move right in without thinking twice.

Wedding 11

Oh my gorgeousness! (Yes, that is a sentence.) My other favorites from the day!

Wedding 12

Loved loved loved their families!

Wedding 18

I love the look of this picture!

Wedding 20

These pictures always get to me. Especially when they are your good friends.

Wedding 22

Dan's mum, Darlene gets her own little shout-out. Why you ask? Because this woman was not only the Groom's mother and had enough stuff to do for the wedding, but she was also their wedding planner. Um, yes, if you feel like it, you can call her Supermum! At least that is what I wanted to call her. She did a fantastic job planning every detail of their wedding!

Wedding 23

These are so fun!

Wedding 24

The reception was held at the beautiful Westwood Center Ballroom.

Lovely little reception details...

Wedding 25

I love this picture of Dan's family while Brandon gives his best man speech.

Wedding 26

These next few are Bryan's shots. Yes, that is right. My husband doesn't believe me, but sooner than later, he is going to be my second shooter!

The dances.

Wedding 27

I thought this perfectly captures Mr. Shelton's happiness of getting a daughter that day!

Wedding 28

Dan's mum surprised Dan with an awesome Groom's cake that perfectly describes Dan!

Wedding 29

Kristin wore a Maggie Sottero wedding dress for the reception and it was just beautiful!

Kristin and Dan, I love you both so much and hope you love your wedding photos. It was an absolute honor getting to be a part of your special day!

And just some fun things to share from Dan and Kristin's perspective of their wedding day:

1. What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Dan: Trystan (the ring bearer) break dancing and all the little girls dressed up
Kristin: Just laughing and joking with Dan all day and then the Father-Daughter dance with his dad at the reception

2. What was the most funniest moment of your wedding day?

Dan: The flower girls walking into the reception hall with felt stick-on mustaches

3. What was your favorite purchase for the wedding day?

Dan: Kristin's jewelry
Kristin: My surprise dress for the reception that I stumbled on merely one WEEK before the wedding

4. Would you chance anything if you had to do it all over again?

Kristin: I would put someone else in charge of the wedding day so Dan's parents could have enjoyed themselves some more. Aside from that, nothing!

5. Any advice for future bride and grooms?

Dan: Go to the court house (typical guy answer)
Kristin: Relax and enjoy the ride because the whole day will be a whirl and no one else will notice if anything is "wrong"

6. Anything else you would like to add?

Kristin: Thank you to Barbie Shipman for letting the girls stay the night and get ready at their home.
